Experienced aquarists are probably familiar with it. Less experienced aquarists often do not know it yet. Therefore the following guide deals with the Demini Angel Sucker Catfish L136. Besides information about its habitat and its appearance the chapters contain hints for setting up an aquarium.

What makes Demini L136 Angelfish Catfish special?

The Demini Loricariid lives in the Brazilian river Rio Negro. Occasionally it can also be found in the Amazon region.
The number L136 is not part of the name, but refers to the breed.

The appearance of Demini Corydoras catfish L136:

The basic color of the Demini Loricariid looks grayish-brownish. Similar to other catfish species bright spots are one of their typical characteristics. The body shape has a straight course, towards the caudal fins it becomes a little bit narrower. Apart from the barbels on the mouth Demini Angelfish Catfish have thorn-like extensions on the fins. On average, mature catfish can grow up to 12 centimetres in size.

A common keeping of this catfish species with other catfish or fish breeds is possible without any problems due to its peace-loving nature. The catfish breed is used to warm water. A water temperature between 26 and 29 degrees is a guideline to orientate yourself. In addition a pH-value of 5 to 7 is indicated for the Loricariid catfish. Hard water can be decalcified before filling it into the aquarium.

Food and nutrition for Demini L136 Angelfish Catfish:

Demini Loricariid catfish belong to the group of omnivores. For this reason they eat both vegetable flake food and live food. Catfish tablets are also suitable as a species-specific food. Plant-based food is primarily eaten by the young animals. With increasing age they prefer mosquito larvae, small fish or food in granulate form.

The ideal aquarium for Demini Angel Sucker Catfish L136:

Besides a constant oxygen supply the animals need a lot of activities. With the help of upside-down flower pots or superstructures made of stones arches can be made. The catfish can swim through them. You can often observe how they pick up food from the bottom of the tank. Therefore it does not matter if some granules fall down. It must not be too coarse-grained. Otherwise the fish can hardly find their food again. Please refrain from planting the bottom too luxuriantly.

Special features of Demini Angel Loricariid L136:

Despite their dark color, catfish in the tank are very colorful. An appropriate light source emphasizes their outer advantages.
